AASCO-2 Meeting at the Musée Océanographique in Monaco

The Arena for the Gap Analysis of Existing Arctic Science Co-Operations (AASCO-2) project convened a dialogue  during 4-5 February 2025 at the Musée Océanographique in Monaco, supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.  This two-day event, which was opened by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, aimed to build stronger links between Arctic research groups and their strategic planning, particularly in view of the Fourth International Conference on Arctic Research Planning (ICARP-IV), Sustaining Arctic Observing Networks (SAON)-ROADS framework and preparations for the 5th International Polar Year (2032–33).

The AASCO-2 program in Monaco was coordinated by the University of Helsinki, involving partnerships with the University of the Arctic (UArctic); SAON; Svalbard Integrated Arctic Earth Observing System (SIOS); World Meteorological Organization (WMO); International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS); Aerospace Information Research Institute Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIR-CAS); and the Science Diplomacy Center, Inc. (SDCI) USA.  Outcomes of this second AASCO-2 meeting are elaborated in the resulting white paper.
